Then you’ll be entered to win your choice of a set of notecards or a 5×7 matted print. Item can be mailed within the US. If you’re not in the US, I’d still love for you to like the page and help spread the word!

Kill Devil Hills, Outer Banks, North Carolina

Spending the week at Kill Devil Hills, part of the Outer Banks (or OBX) of North Carolina, USA. We’ve been having amazing weather, especially since it hasn’t been too hot for the little ones (but still warm enough to be out in swim suits). Had a pretty sunrise this morning over the water and tried out my wide angle lens (Canon 18-40). Since this is primarily a family vacation, I cut down on how much camera equipment I brought and stuck to just two lenses–the wide angle 18-40 and my mid-range zoom (28-105).

September starts on Thursday, which means newsletter time! If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, you can at the top right of my blog. It’s a monthly email with travel and photography tips, photos and news. Do make sure to check your spam folder Sept 2nd if you haven’t received it, as it often goes there the first delivery until you mark it safe.

Help me with a quick survey?

Virginia_Cville_flower bouquet_wm

Can you do me a favor? I have a number of craft shows coming up this fall and I am trying to gather data on interest and buying trends for photography. It is a quick 5 question survey that will help me order the right types of products. It is anonymous and you won’t be hooked in to any marketing or promotional stuff. Doesn’t matter if you are local or not! All input helps!

Have you ever wondered the story behind a photo? Or seen a great photo and wished you knew more about the place, its history, or why it’s interesting? Through my blog, I hope to tell the stories behind the photos featured by Carrie Reed Photography. You might learn a brief history of a historical site, some cultural tidbits, a few fun facts about a different part of the world or a little how or why I took a photo. And if any photo particularly speaks to you, contact me about getting a copy for yourself!

Many of my photographs come from my two years living in New Delhi, India and the travel I did domestically and internationally in the region. From camels in the tiny desert town of Pushkar, India to the gorgeous beaches of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean, you are sure to find pictures and stories you connect to. Now that I’m back in the US for two years, you’ll also be seeing posts about adventures stateside.

If you ever have questions about a photo, post a comment and I’ll provide as much information as I’m able! I’d love to hear from you.
